I?ve been sleeping
On the couch
Most nights this week,
Trying to get all my ripping done.
That?s the excuse that I tell myself.

But when I tried
Sleeping in our bed last night
My sleep was filled
With nightmares
Reminding me that it really was
One of my last nights.

I couldn?t help but think
About the fact that you should have been there
But, you weren?t there, of course.
I slept alone in my bed
With it?s cold sheets
And the fan on full blast.

No one complains about the cold anymore.
